Bead Rules

All beads must be earned as a dues paid member of the Tejas Lodge and are retroactive from the fall encampment of 1981, except for the turquoise bead for section or regional events, the brass bead for national events, and the red bead for years of active service. The turquoise and brass beads are retroactive from when an Arrowman joined the Order of the Arrow. The red beads are retroactive from when an Arrowman joined the Tejas Lodge and apply for each year in which an Arrowman was enrolled in the Tejas Lodge.

A supply of beads is to be kept by each Chapter under the supervision of the Chapter Adviser. It shall be the responsibility of the Lodge Treasurer under the supervision of the Lodge Associate Adviser to the Treasurer to maintain an adequate supply of beads, paint, and other related materials. The Lodge Chief is assigned the primary responsibility of issuing the beads and other related materials to each Chapter Chief to maintain under the supervision of the Chapter Adviser. All beads will be issued by the Chapter Chief under the supervision of the Chapter Adviser.

It is the sole purpose of the bead system to reward those active Arrowmen with a visible token of recognition. The awarding of beads is to be restricted to the guidelines. These rules and guidelines may be changed or amended by a majority vote of the Lodge Executive Committee of the Tejas Lodge at any official meeting of this body when a quorum is present.
